Court Approves $3.2 Million Fee Award in Wawa Breach Deal (1)

A $3.2 million attorneys’ fee award in a class action over a 2019 data breach suffered by the Wawa Inc. convenience-store chain that resulted in a $12.2 million settlement was affirmed by a federal appeals court.

The award was fair and reasonable, and the lower court properly determined that there were no side agreements and that the parties suffered no ill effects from the negotiation process, the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said Wednesday.
