A $2.3 million settlement to resolve a consumer labeling class action against Lenny & Larry’s Inc. won final approval May 2 after scrutiny from the Justice Department caused the parties to change its terms.
The DOJ filed a statement of interest in the case in February recommending that the original settlement agreement be rejected.
This is the third deal the DOJ has opposed since it announced last year it would take a more active role in scrutinizing class action settlements.
