Estonia-based 3Commas Technologies OU must face a proposed class action in a California federal court alleging its negligent cybersecurity measures caused nearly $22 million in losses to cryptocurrency owners.
3Commas, a provider of automatic cryptocurrency-trading services, had sufficient contacts with California to establish the court’s jurisdiction, a divided three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said Monday.
The panel reversed a lower court’s dismissal of the lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds and remanded the case for further proceedings.
