A federal judge ruled Thursday in favor of student loan borrowers who claimed in a class action that servicer Conduent Education Services LLC interfered with their ability to manage their loans by not returning their paperwork on time.
Jeffery Chery sued Conduent after he had to wait 10 months for a loan verification certificate—though the public service employee made 120 loan payments and correctly applied to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Chery claims that he ended up paying $1,000 more to Conduent than he otherwise would have paid to the public service loan forgiveness program.
