College Admissions Scandal Draws Another Consumer Class Suit (2)

The eight universities involved in the college admissions scandal are facing another nationwide class complaint by rejected applicants who say the schools failed to protect the admissions process from fraud.

The June 14 suit follows the March 12 criminal complaint charging 50 people with conspiracy to gain admission of students through the payment of bribes and other inducements.

Several of the same attorneys filed an earlier class action making many of the same allegations. The new complaint expands the original claims under California consumer protection laws to the laws of all the other states and the District of Columbia.
