Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc. agreed to settle consumer claims brought by customers whose personal and financial information was stolen during a malware attack, according to federal court filings in Florida.
The proposed class includes all customers who used a credit or debit card at a Checkers or Rally’s restaurant during the data breach, which affected about 1.5 million payment transactions made between December 2015 and October 2019.
Class members who submit a valid claim are eligible for up to $5,000 to cover any documented out-of-pocket expenses caused by the breach and $20 worth of restaurant vouchers.
