Capital One Fails to Escape Suit Over Meta, Google Data Sharing

Capital One Financial Corp. must face a proposed class action alleging it shared the personal information of customers and credit-card applicants with third parties such as Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC.

Deia Williams, one of two named plaintiffs, alleged an injury in fact sufficient to establish standing to sue in federal court, Judge Trina Thompson of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said May 22.
