Over 60 class actions filed since Capital One’s July disclosure of a massive data breach implicating the personal information of millions of customers will be sent to the federal court near the company’s headquarters, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ruled Oct. 2.
Judge Anthony J. Trenga of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia will preside over the consolidated cases.
The panel called him “an able jurist with MDL experience.” Trenga presides over the multidistrict litigation involving the durability of Lumber Liquidators laminated wood flooring.
