California Supreme Court justices didn’t know the State Bar used artificial intelligence to draft questions for the February Bar Exam, and they’re pressing the lawyer regulator for details.
The State Bar’s petition to adjust applicants’ scores should explain how and why AI was used to develop the brand-new Bar Exam, the court said in a Thursday statement. The State Bar plans to file a request from the Committee of Bar Examiners expected to boost the February pass rate, one remedy for their botched rollout of the exam this year.
