Bosch’s Win Affirmed in VW Dealers’ Diesel Emissions Suit

Volkswagen dealerships’ lost opportunity to sell diesel vehicles can’t be pinned on Robert Bosch GmbH‘s alleged racketeering conspiracy with the automaker to make software “defeat devices” because the real cause was “the fraud’s discovery, not the fraud itself,” the Ninth Circuit ruled.

The court affirmed the district court’s grant of summary judgment to Bosch on claims related to VW’s “turbocharged direct injection” diesel-engine vehicles.
