BMW German Parent Still in Diesel-Cheat Suit; Bosch Parent Out

BMW’s German parent must keep facing a proposed class suit over emissions-cheating devices in certain diesel vehicles, but a New Jersey federal court said it lacked jurisdiction over claims against German engineering company Robert Bosch GmbH.

Garner Rickman and others allege they purchased certain X5 and X335D “clean diesel” vehicles because of false representations of lower emissions.

The plaintiffs allege German parent Bosch GmbH and Michigan-based unit Bosch LLC developed emission testing defeat technology, which was supplied to manufacturer BMW AG and New Jersey-based distributor BMW of North America.
