A class of blind Chicago residents was certified by a federal trial court in Illinois to bring a bias suit against the city over their access to “signalized pedestrian intersections.”
The suit seeks declarative and injunctive relief for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act.
The class will include more than 60,000 visually impaired citizens who use the city’s crosswalks, Judge Elaine E. Bucklo of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said.
