Philips North America LLC and Handi-Craft Co. deceived parents into thinking their baby bottles and sippy cups were safe though the bottles leached dangerous microplastics into food for babies and toddlers, proposed consumer class actions filed Tuesday allege.
The companies have “callously brought to life every parent’s worst nightmare: unknowingly exposing their children to harm with a product they reasonably believed was safe,” the complaints filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
