Allergan Investors Get New Lead Plaintiff in Breast Implant Suit

A class of investors who allege Allergan PLC wasn’t honest about potential links between its breast implants and a rare blood cancer will be led by DeKalb County Pension Fund according to an order docketed Tuesday, following the disqualification of a previously appointed lead plaintiff.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, accuses Allergan and its executives of concealing that its silicone-gel breast implants were associated with anaplastic large cell lymphoma. The company’s stock allegedly fell nearly 7% when the products were pulled from European shelves in 2018.
