AI Firm Handed Two Suits Over Data Breach at New York Hospital

AI-driven service management solutions company Serviceaide Inc. was accused of negligence in two proposed class actions over a data breach at a New York Catholic hospital.

Pearl Wolf and Chloe Wright said in separate lawsuits filed May 16 and 18, respectively, that Serviceaide posted a notice seven months after the data security incident at Catholic Health System Inc., a nonprofit hospital system based in Buffalo, N.Y.

The plaintiffs, who were both patients and employees of Catholic Health, said the notices indicated that certain information in Serviceaide’s Catholic Health Elasticsearch database was inadvertently made publicly available, including patient data.
