ADT, Defenders Will Face Class Claims in State Court

Three security system providers will face a consumer class action in New Jersey state court after the Third Circuit affirmed July 9 it was properly filed there.

ADT Security Services Inc., now known as Tyco Integrated Security Systems LLC, and more than two-thirds of potential class members are New Jersey citizens. Therefore, the case “is uniquely connected to the state in which the plaintiff originally filed the state court action,” Judge Morton I. Greenberg wrote for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
