ADP Trims Computer Hacking, Unfair Trade Practices Claims

ADP Inc. secured dismissal of computer hacking claims levied by an ex-employee after a Florida federal judge found the worker hadn’t adequately alleged losses under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

Plaintiff David Schwartz failed to meet the $5,000 minimum under that statute, Judge Sheri Polster Chappell wrote in an opinion filed Dec. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
