Wanda Dollar Bonds Soar as Lenders Hold Off Loan-Payment Demand

Dalian Wanda Group Co. dollar bonds rallied Monday, with one on track for a record gain, as an update about offshore loans helped ease liquidity concerns about the Chinese conglomerate.

A note due July 23 surged 10 cents to 87 cents, according to prices compiled by Bloomberg, after the group said no lender has so far requested early repayment on $1.3 billion of offshore loans. The banks have that option because a mall unit didn’t complete an initial public offering by May 8, Dalian Wanda Commercial Management Group Co. said in a statement.
