Virtu Names Former Jump Options Lead Shen as Options Co-Head

Virtu Financial has promoted two traders to lead its equity derivatives business, as the market maker seeks to expand its presence in the US options market.

Zijin ‘CJ’ Shen and Newman Wu have been picked as options co-heads for Virtu Financial, a company spokesperson confirmed in response to a query from Bloomberg News. The pair replace Pratik Mathur, a Virtu veteran who left the market-maker in February.

New York-based Shen was head of options at Jump Trading in Chicago from late 2013 to mid-2016, a regulatory filing indicates. He joined Virtu as a trader in 2018.
