Verisure Reports Data Breach Week After Blockbuster IPO (1)

Verisure Plc reported a data breach to the Swedish police after information stored on third-party systems was accessed by an unauthorized party, just over a week after the firm’s blockbuster Stockholm IPO.

Verisure said on Friday that an investigation “indicates that the incident affected a third-party billing system serving Alert Alarm customers only,” referring to a legacy business acquired previously. The breach contained personal data limited to names, addresses, email addresses, and social security numbers of around 35,000 former and current customers of the subsidiary, Verisure said in a statement.
