Stifel CEO Hires 50 Bankers to Fill Void After SVB’s Collapse

Stifel Financial Corp. has hired roughly 50 bankers who will cater to startups and entrepreneurs, part of the investment bank’s efforts to fill the void left by the demise of Silicon Valley Bank last year.

The company is expecting a pickup in activity among early stage startups looking to recapitalize amid a prolonged slowdown in venture capital activity, Stifel Chief Executive Officer Ron Kruszewski said in a Bloomberg Television interview from the World Economic Forum in Davos.
