Senator Sets Sept. 30 Deadline on Digital Asset Market Structure

Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott has set a Sept. 30 deadline for the panel to advance crypto market structure legislation.

Scott committed to the timeline at an event on Thursday with Senator Cynthia Lummis and Bo Hines, executive director of the Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets. Both chambers of Congress are trying to reach an agreement on market structure and stablecoin bills.

Scott said the House is concerned about getting market structure legislation passed quickly.
