Scotiabank Hires Former UBS Banker Lombardo for Health-Care ECM

Bank of Nova Scotia hired former UBS Group AG managing director Joe Lombardo for health-care equity capital markets transactions, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Lombardo will report to John Cronin, Scotiabank’s US head of equity capital markets, one of the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private information. Lombardo left UBS in January as it reduced headcount, Bloomberg reported at the time. He joined the Swiss bank in 2020 after roughly two decades at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Plc, according to his LinkedIn profile.

A spokeswoman for Scotiabank declined to comment.
