Options traders will face lower fees after
NYSE Arca changed its rules to only assess so-called options regulatory fees, or ORFs, on trades executed on the exchange, according to a filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.
Many options are proprietary and only trade on a single exchange, competing exchanges for decades assessed fees on contracts that never traded on their platforms. The practice divided the options industry, with some market participants pushing to eliminate the practice.
