Novo, Orsted Woes Make Danish Stock Benchmark the World’s Worst

Orsted A/S is the latest blow to a market that has already had more than its share of troubles in the past year.

Denmark’s OMXC25 index is the worst-performing developed-market benchmark this year as it reels from a barrage of bad news hitting the Nordic nation’s biggest companies.

The gauge — home to the country’s 25 biggest stocks and heavily exposed to the under-pressure pharmaceutical and health care sectors — is down 7% in 2025 and 14% in the past 12 months. The Stoxx Europe 600 index, meanwhile, has gained 7.8% and 9.6% in those periods.
