Muni Sales Set to Accelerate to Fastest Pace This Year: Chart

Sept. 30, 2021, 1:32 PM UTC

State and local governments are slated to sell debt at the fastest pace this year as sales speed up during the traditionally heavy fall season, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Municipal borrowed are expected to sell $17.8 billion of bonds over the next 30 days, the most since November 2020. The index, which is a sum of the forward looking calendar, represents a fraction of what actually comes to market because deals are often announced with less than a month’s notice.
