Hong Kong Top Regulator Leung Said to Get Another Term (1)

Julia Leung is set to be given another three-year term as head of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, according to people familiar with the matter.

The government plans to extend her time as SFC’s chief executive officer when her current term expires at the end of the year, the people said, asking not to be identified since the matter is private.

Leung took over in January 2023 as the first female to lead the city’s market watchdog, gaining the top job after serving as the deputy to former head Ashley Alder. The extension was earlier reported ...
