Galvanize Hires Ex-DOE Investment Chief for Special Situations

Billionaire Tom Steyer’s Galvanize Climate Solutions hired Chris Creed, who oversaw investments at the US Department of Energy’s loan office, to focus on special situations and structured-financing solutions.

Creed was involved in deals worth about $108 billion at the DOE’s Loan Program Office, according to a statement from Galvanize on Thursday. Before joining the agency in 2021, Creed spent more than two decades at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., where he was co-head of securitized investments and managed more than $75 billion of fixed-income assets.
