Democrats Urge White House to Pause Fannie, Freddie Share Sale

Key Senate Democrats are pressing the Trump administration to hold off on plans to sell shares of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in order to study how the move would impact mortgage rates.

In a letter Friday to Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, a group of senators including Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts urged the regulator to focus on lowering housing costs.
