CQS Shuts Asia Macro Hedge Fund Strategy as Geoff Barker Quits

CQS is shutting its Asian macro hedge fund strategy after its manager quit, further shrinking the regional footprint of Michael Hintze’s firm.

Geoffrey Barker, the strategy’s portfolio manager in Hong Kong, decided to pursue other opportunities outside CQS, according to an email sent to clients from Alma Capital, and his pending departure triggered its discontinuation. Alma marketed a version of the CQS Asian macro strategy compliant with the European Union’s UCITS regulation.
