Citigroup Names Goldman Sachs’ Black North America Tech ECM Head

Citigroup Inc. hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s Charlie Black as its head of North America technology equity capital markets.

He will also become head of west coast ECM, and will report to Bernal J. Vargas III, Citigroup’s incoming head of North America ECM, who joins the firm in October, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg News.

Black will be based in San Francisco and joins later this year. A spokesperson for Citigroup confirmed the contents of the memo.
