NBA’s Westbrook, Nick Gross Back Oklahoma City Soccer Project

The son of one-time bond king Bill Gross is joining NBA star Russell Westbrook in backing a new entertainment district in Oklahoma City anchored by a new soccer stadium.

An investment firm tied to Nick Gross, along with Russell Westbrook Enterprises and Echo Investment Capital, are pouring more than $1 billion into the 50-acre project, according to Christian Kanady, founder and chief executive officer of Echo. The Sacramento Kings point guard announced his investment in the development last year. Bill Gross isn’t involved in the Oklahoma City project, a spokesperson for Nick said.
