Barclays’ Veteran India Banker Agarwal Leaves to Join Rival Firm

Barclays Plc’s veteran corporate and investment banker in India is departing the lender, the latest in a slew of recent moves by senior financiers during a period of strong deal flow in the country.

Vinayak Agarwalresigned as a managing director at the London-based firm and is currently on gardening leave, according to people familiar with the matter. He’s set to join a rival bank, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private information.

A spokesperson for Barclays declined to comment.
