Amphenol Sells $7.5 Billion of Notes to Fund CommScope Deal (2)

Amphenol Corp. sold $7.5 billion of investment-grade bonds to help fund its pending acquisition of CommScope Holdings Co. operations, the biggest offering among a rush of debt issuance ahead of this week’s Federal Reserve meeting.

The longest portion of the seven-part transaction, a 30-year note, yields 0.75 percentage point above Treasuries, versus initial price talk of about 1.1 percentage point, according to a person with knowledge of the matter who asked not to be identified as the details are private.
