AIG Says CFO Fitzsimons Will Take Temporary Medical Leave (1)

American International Group Inc. said Chief Financial Officer Shane Fitzsimons will take a temporary medical leave effective immediately.

Previous CFO Mark Lyons will fill the position on an interim basis while continuing as executive vice president, global chief actuary and head of portfolio management, the New York-based insurance company said in a statement Tuesday.

The insurer didn’t specify what prompted the leave of absence.

Fitzsimons became CFO on Jan. 1 last year, as the company prepared the initial public offering for its life and retirement unit that was completed in September. Fitzsimons previously was the insurer’s chief administrative officer. Lyons ...
