A New York hemp seed broker can’t pursue claims that it bought bad seeds from an organic farm in Colorado because it failed to show it was injured, a federal trial court ruled.
Plaintiff HempChain Farms LLC didn’t lose any of its profits from brokering the seeds to farmers, Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. of the US District Court for the Northern District of New York said March 24. HempChain made $72,000 in profit from brokering the seeds and didn’t issue a refund to any of the farmers, the court said.
