U.S. Seeks Crypto Suit Dismissal After Taxpayers Refuse Refund

A cryptocurrency tax lawsuit should be dismissed because the government authorized and delivered the requested tax refund with interest, the Justice Department told a federal court.

The taxpayers can’t keep their suit alive by arguing that they have rejected the refund and that the case still presents a live controversy, the department added in a memo supporting its motion to dismiss. The motion addresses a lawsuit brought by Joshua and Jessica Jarrett for a $3,793 tax refund, plus interest, at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. ...
