Swalwell Alleges Abuse of US Power in Pulte Suit: California Brief

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) is suing Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, the latest escalation of accusations by prominent Democrats and others that US officials are abusing their power to retaliate against the president’s political opponents.

The congressman and California gubernatorial hopeful alleges Pulte illegally obtained and used his personal mortgage records and inaccurately claimed that Swalwell had committed mortgage fraud in a criminal referral to the US Justice Department.
