Surprise Case Brings Tears to Musk Court

It was one of the most profound moments I’ve witnessed in a courtroom as a legal reporter.

Judge Charles R. Breyer, in his morning court session yesterday in San Francisco, was quibbling with Elon Musk’s lawyers about how to answer a jury question related to Twitter investors’ fraud allegations.

But the judge did something unusual when the hearing ended, and Musk’s team and the lawyers representing the investors began packing up. He asked everyone to stay for another case.
