State Sued Trump More than Once a Week

California is on pace to match the total number of lawsuits against the first Trump administration by the halfway mark of the president’s second term, state Attorney General Rob Bonta said Tuesday at an exclusive roundtable.

Bonta’s office has sued the Trump administration 57 times since January 2025, he said at Bloomberg’s San Francisco office alongside Connecticut AG William Tong. That’s more than once per week.

California’s former AG Xavier Becerra filed just over 120 lawsuits against Trump during the president’s first four years in office, the current AG said.
