SeatGeek Hit With Class Suit Over Use of Meta, TikTok Trackers

SeatGeek, Inc.'s installation and use of trackers furnished by Meta and TikTok on its website violates California law, according to a new class suit filed in federal court.

Jose Torres alleges that the trackers capture users’ phone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, and other identifying information without obtaining consent or a court order and allowes SeatGeek to identify anonymous website visitors and share their data with the third-party vendors for targeted advertising purposes.

The plaintiff alleges the trackers constitute illegal “trap and trace devices” under California law and seeks statutory damages, injunctive relief, attorneys’ fees, and costs.
