Comet ML is wielding an unusual piece of evidence in its trademark battle with Perplexity AI: an exchange with the startup’s own AI in which the chatbot got confused about which company is which, Annelise Levy reports.
The software company used a screenshot of Perplexity’s chatbot response to a user’s question about “comet” pricing as proof that consumers are similarly confused. The chatbot allegedly combined pricing details for Comet ML’s platform with Perplexity’s Comet browser subscription plans.
