Northrop, California Worker Reach Deal to Resolve PAGA Claims

A former Northrop Grumman Corp. worker who says the defense contractor and a subsidiary violated California wage law asked a federal judge to sign off on a $115,000 settlement resolving claims under the state’s Private Attorneys General Act.

The deal covers the PAGA claims of more than 1,400 workers, according to settlement documents filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The unique state law allows workers to recover for employment violations on behalf of the state of California and other aggrieved employees.
