Ninth Circuit Scrutinizes Block on Officer Threats at Protests

The breadth of a Los Angeles judge’s block on federal agents threatening journalists and legal observers was considered by a Ninth Circuit panel on Friday in light of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling ending nationwide injunctions.

The district judge’s order barring agents from firing crowd control weapons like tear gas at people who don’t imminently threaten officers seems not to comply with the recent emergency docket order in Trump v. CASA, Judge Mark Bennett, an appointee of President Donald Trump said.

“This injunction appears to grant relief to everyone who could be classified as a protester,” Bennett said.
