Privacy issues will be a key focus for the new California Senate leader next year, Senate President Pro Tempore Monique Limón (D) told Andrew Oxford and Titus Wu in an interview.
One of Limón’s first moves was launching a standing legislative committee to examine the handling of personal data from insurance to health care. The state Senate’s approach to data security follows a model adopted by counterparts in the California Assembly.
