Netflix’s Hastings Gives $2 Million to Back California Map Fight

Netflix Inc. co-founder and Chairman Reed Hastings donated $2 million on Friday to back redistricting efforts in California, financial disclosures show, extending his support of Governor Gavin Newsom.

The billionaire is one of the most prominent names so far to stand behind Newsom in his controversial plan to redraw congressional maps. Californians will vote in November on the ballot initiative, which the Democratic governor has pitched as an effort to fight similar redistricting moves in Texas.
