Man Charged With Starting LA Fire Faces 45 Years in Prison (1)

A 29-year-old man arrested on charges of starting the deadly Palisades Fire in one of Los Angeles’ wealthiest enclaves faces as long as 45 years in prison after a federal grand jury voted to indict him on two additional felony counts.

Jonathan Rinderknecht, a former resident of the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, now faces one count of destruction of property by means of fire, one count of arson affecting property used in interstate commerce and one count of timber set afire. He has been held in federal custody since his arrest last week in Florida.
