Elon Musk lost his bid to unwind OpenAI’s shift to a for-profit structure after a federal jury in Oakland found he waited too long to sue over the company’s overhaul.

Isaiah Poritz, Madlin Mekelburg, and Rachel Metz report that the unanimous nine-member panel didn’t reach Musk’s core claim that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman abandoned OpenAI’s founding mission to develop AI for humanity’s benefit.
