Hollywood Dealmaker Ara Joins Weil to Start Entertainment Group

Entertainment and media lawyer Tom Ara is leaving DLA Piper to start a new practice group at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.

Ara will lead Weil’s entertainment, sports and media practice as a partner in the firm’s US private equity group, according to a statement reviewed by Bloomberg News. He’ll be based in Los Angeles.
