DOJ Takes Aim at California Emissions Rule
The California Air Resources Board’s March vehicle-emissions rule “alter[s] the composition” of the vehicles produced in the US, shifting more of the market toward electric vehicles and hampering consumers’ access to other options, the DOJ argues.
The regulations also harm the federal government’s interest in maintaining uniform fuel economy standards and interfere with NHTSA’s efforts to impose them, the DOJ asserts.
